Well, hello there.  So you found me, you sneaky devil, you!  Okay, so I probably gave you the link.  But still.  You made it and you are here.  Yay! I was just ready for a change and had been contemplating changing up my old blog, but then decided to go fresh and new.  Anyhow, thanks for joining me on my journey to wherever.  As always, I don’t have a direction, but life is more fun that way, ya know?

In a nutshell my life is crazy busy.  I have an amazing daughter that is truly the light of my life.  People always say their lives changed after having a kid and boy were they right.  I had NO idea.  I always thought I was fine without kids then WHAMMO.  My life got turned upside down and I have absolutely no desire to turn it right side up.  But as with everything else in my life, no one can prepare you for having a child.  You just have to experience it for yourself.  Sure, not everyone has a great experience being a parent, but I wouldn’t trade if for the world.  Along with having my daughter, I left my job and became a stay at home mom.  Now that was a HUGE change for me.  I have always worked.  It’s weird not having a career anymore.  Or getting a paycheck.  And this was the first year I didn’t get a W-2 and that sort of freaked me out.  BUT, I am so thankful that my husband makes a decent salary so I can stay home with my daughter.  I could not imagine working and putting her in daycare.  I know, I know.  People all over do it.  But that just doesn’t work for me.  Hey, stop judging me.  I never said it was wrong, it’s just wrong for me.

Anyhow, now that I am home all the time my priorities have shifted a ton.  It’s crazy the satisfaction I get out of having a clean house.  Yesterday I cleaned the fridge and freezer and it looks brand spanking new.  Okay, um..yeah.  Maybe that means I need to get out more.  heh.

Speaking of getting out, the weather has finally started to be more springlike, so we’ve been spending a ton of time outdoors.  And since I’ve been feeling like such a lazy ass, I’ve started hiking again.  I have this great carrier for my daughter that I stick her in and off we go.  On Friday we went on a great hike with one of my girlfriends.  I guess it was around 3 miles round trip and it felt great.  I let my little daughter run around at the top of the trail and she just loved it.  And just today I’ve decided to get back into running.  Another girlfriend was saying that she ran her first 10k yesterday and I decided that I, too, will start training for a 10k.  The last one I did was before my daughter was born, so it’s high time I get back to it.  So, I have decided to get after it and do a 10k in June.  Thankfully I’ll be running with my girlfriend so she will keep me honest.  heh.  My husband is a huge runner, but he is way advanced so there is no use in me trying to train with him.  Besides.  He is too damn competitive.
