I am so beyond tired right now and still have so much to do.  My little one –who I affectionately call Bunny — and I had a very large time today and I’m still trying to recover.  She, on the other hand, is fast asleep.  We started out our morning with a play date in the East Bay with a girlfriend and her 3 1/2 year old daughter at a delightful park..  But before we could leave town, Bunny an I had to stop by the store for some provisions and fill up the car.  We finally got under way a little after 9 and arrived at our destination shortly before 10:30.  The weather was perfect with blue skies, a light breeze and of sun.  As soon as we arrived, I was struck by an overwhelming sense of peace and serenity, which was a bit wild as the playground was packed with moms and kids.  The vibe was so different from what I am used to at the playgrounds where I live.

I soon found my friend and the girls went off to play.  I loved that moms outnumbered nannies and the kids were outgoing and friendly.  Bunny had a blast and didn’t want to leave.  She got good and muddy and discovered the joy of the big kid swings.  No more bucket swings for her.  Well, for today at least.  She also found a lap she liked and plopped right down.  She took the lady a bit by surprised, but they both giggled and a new friendship was formed.  Besides, the lady was blowing bubbles and everyone knows that makes you the most popular person at the park!

We finally headed out a little after noon and headed over to another friend’s house where the fun continued.  The best part for me was they nummy spread my friend had.  And by spread, I mean that we basically just raided her fridge and ate the most random assortment of deliciousness. Salami.  Harvati cheese, French bread, CHOCOLATE FROSTING and the mom drink of choice:  Diet Coke.  We noshed and noshed and noshed some more.  Pure bliss.  Oh, the kiddos have their own treats as well, but I doubt they enjoyed them as much as us moms did.  heh  We didn’t head out until almost 4, an thankfully Bunny slept the whole drive home, and I must admit, I almost did, too! Okay, not quite, but I sure was tired by the time we rolled in the driveway.

Thankfully, hubby has a dinner meeting tonight so I don’t have to worry about making anything.  And everything else that I have to do will just have to wait until tomorrow.  Well, maybe I’ll put the clean sheets back the bed. just maybe.
